Frequently asked questions

What is Jiandan? Screenshot-to-Jianying workflow FAQ

Jiandan (剪蛋) is a Windows clipboard-image utility for Jianying Pro. It transfers screenshots into editing media; it does not generate images, design posts, or automatically make videos.

Can I paste a screenshot into Jianying Pro?

With Jiandan running and signed in, open a Jianying Pro draft on its Media page, capture or copy an image, then press Ctrl+V in Jianying. Jiandan imports a local image and invokes Jianying's native media-card action. Placement is intended at the playhead above existing visual tracks, but depends on the Jianying version and UI state.

What can creators use it for?

Software walkthrough screenshots, original knowledge cards, licensed product visuals, and source excerpts for narrated explainers. Match each image to a line in your script, paste the image, then handle framing, duration, annotation, narration and export in your editing tools. Jiandan does not perform those editing steps.

Can existing graphic posts become video material?

Original or licensed cards can be reused as still-image media in Jianying. They do not become editable text layers and Jiandan does not automatically turn a post into a video. Use your original design files to change the content.

Does it improve resolution or replace original files?

No. Jiandan does not upscale screenshots or promise lossless conversion. Use original high-resolution files when small text, transparency or image fidelity matters. Native file import is often more suitable for an existing organized image collection.

What if import works but timeline placement does not?

Import and placement are separate operations. Check that both the new media thumbnail and the timeline show the current image. Stop repeated pastes if an old image is selected or nothing is added. Reproduce in a disposable test draft and report the Jianying version, layout and steps through GitHub Issues. Success in every layout and media-list state is not promised.

Is CapCut Desktop or macOS supported?

The published scope is Windows 10/11 and Jianying Pro. This release does not claim CapCut Desktop, macOS or mobile compatibility. It handles clipboard images, not text, videos or file lists. Ordinary text paste and paste in other apps should remain unchanged.

Are sign-in and local image storage required?

First use requires email verification and session checks require an internet connection. Normal app exit preserves the encrypted local session for up to 30 days; signing in on another device invalidates the old session. Images and clipboard contents are not uploaded. Images are stored locally for use as media; do not delete files still referenced by a draft.

Where is the official release and license?

Use SKYCHENV/Jiandan on GitHub and the official download page to verify v1.1.0, file size and SHA-256. The repository is publicly viewable but currently has no identifiable software license. Public visibility alone is not redistribution or commercial-use permission.
